Service Description
Nurse Delegation Core Training Nurse Delegation Core Training teaches caregivers how to safely perform certain nursing tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, as allowed by Washington State law. Using the DSHS‑approved curriculum, this self‑study course covers the responsibilities, limitations, and expectations of a delegated caregiver, including medication administration, documentation, communication, and when to report concerns. After completing the coursework, students take a proctored exam to earn their certificate. Nurse Delegation: Special Focus on Diabetes This DSHS‑approved 3‑hour course provides additional training for caregivers who will administer insulin or perform blood glucose testing under nurse delegation. Students must complete Nurse Delegation Core before enrolling. The curriculum covers diabetes basics, insulin types, safe injection practices, and how to recognize and respond to blood sugar emergencies. A Registered Nurse instructor ensures competency through a supervised exam before certification is issued.
